The Wrath of God

Christians, Saints, and the Elect not destined for wrath as promised in the scriptures. The wrath of God never falls on his own people as it does the wicked. The Wrath of God is NOT the Great Tribulation, though his wrath does occur during that seven year period.

We can see this perfectly in the pictures that we have as Israel escapes from Egypt in The Exodus.

Ephesians 5:6
6
Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.

1 Thessalonians 5:9-10

9For God has not destined us for wrath, but for obtaining salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, 10who died for us, so that whether we are awake or asleep, we will live together with Him.

We are however going to go through persecution and in the world we will have tribulation.

John 15:20

20Remember the word that I said to you, ' A slave is not greater than his master ' If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you; if they kept My word, they will keep yours also.

John 16:33
33
These things I have spoken to you, so that in me you may have peace, In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world.

1 Thessalonians 3:3-4

3so that no one would be disturbed by these afflictions; for you yourselves know that we have been destined for this  4For indeed when we were with you, we kept telling you in advance that we were going to suffer affliction; and so it came to pass, as you know.

Peter makes it clear that God’s judgment fell upon the Angels that sinned, the Ancient world prior to the flood, Sodom and Gomorra, and that he preserved Noah, and he will again rescue the godly from temptation, not the world!

2 Peter 2:4-9

4For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but cast them into hell and committed them to pits of darkness, reserved for judgment; 5and did not spare the ancient world, but preserved Noah, a preacher of righteousness, with seven others, when He brought a flood upon the world of the ungodly; 6and if He condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah to destruction by reducing them to ashes, having made them an example to those who would live ungodly lives thereafter; 7and if He rescued righteous Lot, oppressed by the sensual conduct of unprincipled men 8(for by what he saw and heard that righteous man, while living among them, felt his righteous soul tormented day after day by their lawless deeds), 9then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from temptation, and to keep the unrighteous under punishment for the day of judgment”

Remember what Jesus said!!

John 17:13-21

13"But now I come to You; and these things I speak in the world so that they may have My joy made full in themselves.  14"I have given them Your word; and the world has hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.  15"I do not ask You to take them out of the world, but to keep them from the evil one.  16"They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.  17"Sanctify them in the truth; Your word is truth.

Next we can see clearly that with Sodom and Gomorra in Genesis, and the Great Tribulation in Revelations, it is clear that the righteous and/or God’s people are and the wicked are not treated the same when it comes to his wrath.

Genesis 18:17-33

Abraham came near and said, "Will You indeed sweep away the righteous with the wicked? "Suppose there are fifty righteous within the city; will You indeed sweep it away and not spare the place for the sake of the fifty righteous who are in it? "Far be it from You to do such a thing, to slay the righteous with the wicked, so that the righteous and the wicked are treated alike. Far be it from You! Shall not the Judge of all the earth deal justly?" So the LORD said, "If I find in Sodom fifty righteous within the city, then I will spare the whole place on their account." And Abraham replied, "Now behold, I have ventured to speak to the Lord, although I am but dust and ashes. "Suppose the fifty righteous are lacking five, will You destroy the whole city because of five?" And He said, "I will not destroy it if I find forty-five there." He spoke to Him yet again and said, "Suppose forty are found there?" And He said, "I will not do it on account of the forty." Then he said, "Oh may the Lord not be angry, and I shall speak; suppose thirty are found there?" And He said, "I will not do it if I find thirty there." And he said, "Now behold, I have ventured to speak to the Lord; suppose twenty are found there?" And He said, "I will not destroy it on account of the twenty." Then he said, "Oh may the Lord not be angry, and I shall speak only this once; suppose ten are found there?" And He said, "I will not destroy it on account of the ten." As soon as He had finished speaking to Abraham the LORD departed, and Abraham returned to his place.

Once again we the Saints who refuse to take the Mark of The Beast, and blessed are the dead who die in the lord from now on. Just as we saw in Daniel How blessed is he who keeps waiting and attains to the 1,335 days!

Revelation 14:9-13
“Then another angel, a third one, followed them, saying with a loud voice, "If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives a mark on his forehead or on his hand, he also will drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is mixed in full strength in the cup of His anger; and he will be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb."And the smoke of their torment goes up forever and ever; they have no rest day and night, those who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name." Here is the perseverance of the saints who keep the commandments of God and their faith in Jesus. And I heard a voice from heaven, saying, "Write, 'Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on!'" "Yes," says the Spirit, "so that they may rest from their labors, for their deeds follow with them."
